Making Time Work For Us
The sun rises and the sun sets. There are 24 hours in a day and how we choose to spend our time is entirely down to us. The time will pass anyway. How we choose to spend our time plays a huge role in our fulfilment. Time teaches us the value of life. Knowing that time is always passing should be enough motivation for us to realise that we have a limited amount of time to make an impact and be happy.
Just sitting around waiting for things to happen, creating unrealistic goals will not bring you happiness. Happiness comes from spending time on new experiences that help to expand our knowledge and make us curious to go out and see more, do more and achieve more. Living life through our purpose means that we create a sense of pleasure and fulfilment in our lives.
Your life is a result of the choices that you make. If you want different results, you need to make different choices. Life is not always perfect but it is always what you make it. The one constant in our life is change. We can’t avoid it and the more we resist it the harder our life becomes. Change, forces us to reconsider everything that is familiar to us and dares us to be brave and step into the unknown.
I started my new job at L’Oreal three months ago, working in an industry that I love. Starting out was incredibly daunting but as the months have gone by I have become more confident. I love what I am doing and it fills me with a burning desire on daily basis. Being in a job that I love makes me feel passionate and determined.
My focus and determination is all in the way that I think. A good day happens if I have consciously decided that it is going to be a good day. The preparation begins the night before, with the decision to go to bed early, get up early to make time for breakfast, spend five more minutes getting ready in the morning or catching the earlier train. When these things are achieved at the start of the morning I feel set up and ready for the day ahead. When I miss out one of these steps I almost feel like I am setting myself up for a bad day, as I have failed to make the conscious effort for my day to be good.
It is down to us to take our lives in the direction that we want them to go. We can’t just sit around and wait for good things to happen to us. Good things come to those who work hard to get what they want. Good things come to those who focus on their goals and ambitions and realise that they can do absolutely anything with their lives. Life is not about the passing of time; life is about the collection of experiences that make it up.
